About the role:

Permanent | Full Time

We are looking for a a knowledgeable and experienced Tree Surveyor to join our team in Litchfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating tree health, safety, and condition, and producing comprehensive reports to inform management plans and project requirements. You will work closely with clients and our operational teams, ensuring accurate recommendations and contributing to the smooth delivery of our arboricultural services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to assess tree work, identify tree species and evaluate health and safety risks.

  • Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for a wide range of arboricultural services, including tree removal, pruning and stump grinding.

  • Liaise with clients to understand their needs and offer expert advice on tree care and maintenance.

  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure estimates are aligned with company resources and capabilities.

  • Prepare written quotations and tender submissions for commercial, domestic and public sector clients.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations (BS3998), and local planning laws (TPOs and Conservation Areas).

  • Manage client follow-ups, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and successful conversion of quotes to jobs.

  • Conduct tree surveys and risk assessments across various sites, identifying potential hazards and recommending necessary works.

  • Collaborate with our arborists to plan and prioritise tree works based on survey findings.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

Proven experience in tree estimating / surveying would be beneficial.

Working knowledge of BS3998:2010 (Tree Work – Recommendations) and relevant UK tree legislation.
Strong understanding of tree management, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) certification.
Working knowledge of BS 5837 (2012) – Trees in Relation to Design, Demolition and Construction.
Membership with a recognised arboricultural body (e.g., Arboricultural Association or Institute of Chartered Foresters).

Professional qualifications such as a National Certificate in Arboriculture (NCA), LANTRA Tree Inspection, or equivalent preferred.
CSCS or equivalent qualifications in arboriculture preferred.

Full UK driving license.
